When I launched InflectAI, I asked ChatGPT what tool I should use to build the site.
It said: “Use Notion.”
I said: “Done.”
That moment stuck with me--not because I agreed. But because I didn’t even question it.
I didn’t search. I didn’t compare.
I trusted the agent.
Then, out of curiosity, I asked ChatGPT:
"What are the alternatives to Notion?"
It listed tools like Coda, Slite, and Almanac.
So I asked why it recommended Notion instead.
The answer wasn’t about features or pricing. It was about presence:
ChatGPT answered something like: "Notion has more examples, tutorials, integrations. It's more commonly mentioned in workflows."
In other words, it showed up because it was everywhere the model learned from.
That was the realization:
It’s not just about being better. It’s about being in the model.
This is the invisible funnel in action.
It’s not just that agents are recommending the wrong products.
It’s that they’re recommending what’s available, not what’s best.
And when your product doesn’t show up? It’s not because the model is broken. It’s because your presence is missing:
- Not in the training data.
- Not in the prompt space.
- Not in the agent’s frame of reference.
This is what Marketing to Robots looks like in practice.

This is why I keep saying it:
You’re not marketing to humans anymore—you’re marketing to their agents.
